transformative therapy

Hello !  I am Laura Ramsay, a BACP registered, pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist.

The past few years have for many brought new challenges.

Changes to the way we interact and work, family pressures and huge life changes have contributed to a generalised increase in stress levels, persistent worries and higher levels  of anxiety and depression .

With this, we have seen an increase in awareness of the role and  benefits that counselling can bring to these types of situations.

Counselling can help to work through challenges more effectively and allow the development of  new strategies for coping.

My practise is grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own life, I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space where you can  explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace and in the way that best suits you.

Whether we are in the therapy room or walking as we talk, I am committed to guiding and supporting you.

When to Sit With It and When to Move

There is a quiet tension many of us live inside…the pull to sit with what we feel, and the equally strong urge to do something to escape it.

We are told to process, to feel, to reflect—but also to take action, to move forward, to stop overthinking. The difficulty is not that either approach is wrong. It’s that they are often confused for one another, or used at the wrong time.

Knowing when to sit with something and when to move is less about rules and more about listening for what the moment is asking of you.

Dreaming of Springtime

Something begins to stir as we leave winter behind and move into the transitional months — February and March, stretching into early April. On waking, our dreams can feel closer than usual. More vivid. More emotional. Strangely cinematic. You might waken in the early hours with a full plotline still running: images, feelings, a half‑formed story that hasn’t quite settled with the morning.
